It’s Raining Letters

Several people have sent magnetic letters to my daughter for her birthday. It is wonderful. My daughter immediately spelled her name with them; my son laughed and threw them around, but he is only 1.5 years old. I love playing with them too on our newly mounted magnetic dry erase board. As advertised by the comments, these letters stick to the board without sliding down.

The literacy development my daughter is undergoing also feels like a deluge. It seems each day she picks up something new. For a long time, she just memorized the story in a book and retold it in her own way. Very cute and very necessary for development. But now, she wants to know about letters and words. I feel an anticipation building. She is creating a space for some significant growth.
