My daughter switched music classes a few months ago, and with the winter break has only been in this new chorus for a handful of sessions. Saturday was her performance, and she did really well as probably the youngest in the group and one who only just joined. She stood in the middle of the front of several rows and sung her heart out. She was able to do the hand signals for one song and fit right into the round in another.
The performance was in the bell tower church. This bell is heard for quite an area around and was formative in my daughter learning how to count. It was neat to sit in this church that I often walk past. However, my son found it less entertaining, especially when the whole show started with quite a long series of thanking various city councilmen and chorus board members. After my daughter’s group sang, I had to take my restless son out while she remained with my wife to listen to the older kids and perform at the end.
